Eddie K4UN announced that Field Day went well. There were about 30 people who signed the attendance sheet, and two Boy Scouts visited with their parents. The Scouts were aided in making a couple radio contacts during their visit. There will also be a Tech class offered primarily for the Scouts the 3rd or 4th weekend in August. Chris KL0UD thanked W8PY Ellis, N4OME Darryl, K4UN Eddie and K4WPM Bill for their help with her and AK4MC Kevin's mobile rigs at Field Day.

The Coweta ARES/RACES net takes place every Sunday night at 2100 hours local time, on the K4SEX repeater at 145.13 MHz, courtesy of the Bill Gremillion Memorial Radio Club.

(Posted on behalf of Chris, KL0UD)

Addendum by AK4MC: Chris KL0UD also mentioned that the local VE team had held its testing session that afternoon as planned; there were three candidates. Two passed for Technician, while the third got his paper upgrade to General and plans to pass for Extra as soon as possible.
